Privacy Policy — Noor

Noor is a free prayer-times, Qibla, and Qur'an app. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking, and there is no Noor server — we never receive your data.

What stays on your device

Everything you enter or generate is stored only on your device (in the app's local storage) and is never sent to us:

Your chosen location/city, calculation method, and other settings
Prayer tracker, fasting log, and tasbih counts
Zakat calculator inputs and the last fetched gold/silver prices
Downloaded Qur'an text and recitation audio (if you choose offline mode)

You can erase it all at any time by deleting the app (or, for downloads, via Settings → Offline).

Location

With your permission, your location is used to:

Calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction — done entirely on your device; these coordinates are never transmitted.
Find nearby mosques (only when you open that screen) — your approximate coordinates are sent to the OpenStreetMap Overpass API to return mosques near you. They are used only to service that request and are not stored by us.

If you deny location permission, you can still use the app by searching for a city manually.

Third-party requests

Some features fetch data over the internet. As with any web request, the third party can see your device's IP address, but Noor sends no name, account, or identifier — only what's needed for the feature:

These services have their own privacy policies. Noor does not share data with them beyond the request itself.

Notifications

Prayer-time reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No push service or server is involved.

Children

Noor is safe for all ages. It collects no personal information and contains no ads or third-party tracking.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change and the new version will be published here.
